MMPEI Faculty affiliates program
MMPEI Faculty Affiliates are faculty who are interested in energy, but not yet actively engaged in energy research and education. Faculty Affiliates will gain a broader view of the energy activities and opportunities within MMPEI, and will be in a position to help shape the energy initiative, while serving as a resource for MMPEI and the energy initiative. Faculty Affiliates will not be asked to attend formal meetings as a group, rather, their participation will be opportunity-driven. Faculty Affiliate membership will be reviewed annually to ensure that both the Affiliate and MMPEI have continued interest in continuing the appointment, that the Affiliate is engaging in energy research or education and that they have assumed an active role within MMPEI.
Benefits to MMPEI Faculty Affiliates:
• Affiliates are listed on the MMPEI website (along with a brief biography and a link to their web page) and will be given the first opportunity to provide their expertise to requests from outside the university
• Affiliates may list their affiliation on their CV and research proposals
• Affiliates are provided with the opportunity to advise or to team on externally funded research initiatives
• Affiliates have the opportunity to network with both Faculty Fellows and Corporate Fellows
• Affiliates will be given the opportunity to help shape the energy initiative at the University of Michigan and guide MMPEI
Expectations of MMPEI Faculty Affiliates:
• Affiliates are actively pursuing engagement in energy research and education
• Affiliates will participate in MMPEI activities and events and may serve on ad hoc committees, calendars permitting
• Affiliates are expected to be responsive to inquiries from the media, industry and government offices
• Affiliates are available to provide advice or feedback on opportunities or solicitations brought to MMPEI
• Affiliates are willing to review proposals for energy research and education programs
• Affiliates are willing to promote energy research and education at UM through MMPEI
